Pretty much a thread for Pokemon GO.
Part of me really wants to get it so I can relive those old days of playing Pokemon.
That and I'm too poor to get a 3DS at the moment.
Dallas is going nuts for it. At work, at apartments, everywhere there's peeps out there with it.
I am among them, and its casual enough to where it's not a huge time sink like the original games are.
Well... the game could be better. At least available outside the US.
It's worth it. I've met like 30 new people through it allready and ive only had it 3 days lol
Please,I want it to! The only thing that hinders me from getting it on official release here are the people here. It's a trend here to get likes on fb.Those who actually waited for it are afraid to show it because of the stupid bandwagon people.
At least the game is already getting realistic reception and judgements:
Person who downloaded Pokémon Go naively walks alone into a shady place like a dark alley or isolated area to catch pokemon
and this happens........
I've had a few friends go in on this thing. I am not really into pokemon myself, despite growing up with friends who were into it- but its nice because its something that can combine our past times. They can go about catching their pokemon and I can hike with buds; exploring the countryside and trails with them and they can see both their virtual wildlife and the real critters scurrying about; so the fact its brought my more reclusive or gamey friends into my world of outdoorsmanship is really nice. It's also brought some people around for tourism in different parts so I quite like the concept of it, even though I don't play it myself.
It's hugely popular at my school.
Our school's chapel is a Pokčmon Gym and is now the most popular part of the school at lunchtime. There is practically a lure there everyday making kids all across the school swarm over there.
It's pretty funny... but also - pretty sad.
Why is it sad tho?
It's no differnet to facebook lol
To be honest, this looked mildly idiotic to me when it started. I saw a few of my neighbours who are over 30 playing this. They are running all around the city like morons, but when they need to take their kids to a walk, they feel "tired". Just yesterday, one of them almost got hit by a car, because of this game. Now, I don't think it's just idiotic, but also dangerous.
I wonder what kind of pokemon you could catch while in an airliner? They are basically replacing those fancy mini-TVs on planes with wifi nowadays.
Also
What kind of braindead moron would believe this?
That's basicly just a copy of the "iPhone Wave Feature". People are still falling for that?
In switzerland people are crazy fr this game. people in mass play it on street, work, school its soo popular
But i didnt tryed it yet, waiting RELEASE for windows 10 mobile
I don't know how to feel about Pokemon Go to be honest. Sure it's great and all, improving socializing, getting people to explore their neighborhood, and actually move, but eh....the idea of being so fixated in a virtual world that's starting to co-exist to our world is kinda creepy to me ( or wierd or whatever).
Maybe I just feel like this because I got out of my Pokemon phase a long time ago.
