Being an environmentalist I discourage retrieving your recreational goods from places on airplane range when you can get them in your own country too. Inter-racial dating is environmental pollution.

LOL good one. Anyway, i don't see a big problem with interracial dating. Because in my country, it's only really one race as opposed to when I went to Canada for a year, it kind of appeals to me. But really, the factors that attract to a girl in the first place aren't set in stone. Whether I go out with a hot Asian, Brown, Black, White or Arab chick, it's really whether I feel that initial attraction. Personality mostly counts for second dates and further. End of the story, the race of a girl shouldn't weird you out if you like her. |

What I can't understand is why does racisim still exist in this day and age. It's obvious that racisim is something that is taught. No one comes out of the womb saying I hate (insert random race here). Hell if cat's and dogs can get along, there is no reason why we shouldn't. I haven't been alive for a long time, but as long as it's been going on, you'd have thought racism would have died out by now. There are so many people in the world, how could there be enough people to perpetuate racisim.

There are so many people in the world, how could there be enough people to perpetuate racisim. **GS** People group themselves according to race and gender, as kids grow older, instead of sorting themselves by gender, it changes to race. I've grown up in a "diverse neighbourhood" of Chinese, Indian, Blacks, Whites, and a lot more; everyone here has friends of all races here but when placed in a room with a lot of unfamiliar people, most people will group themselves by race. As people get more and more comfortable just sticking with their own races, the "us versus them" mentality develops further and further. If taken to the extreme, it becomes racism, racism is just another "us versus them" kind of thing, which develops naturally and is usually harmless but can be taken to the extreme. I've noticed that people born here are almost always more accepting of other races and much less likely to discriminate versus people that have immigrated though. also i think most people like fried chicken and watermeleon, they just taste good Oo This post has been edited by Sharpnessism: 24 Sep 2009, 7:07 |

I have no real problem with the people - it is the religions that anger me.
For example, in England about 2 years ago, Santa's Grottos were banned as they "may offend other cultures". At the time my girlfriend and I spent hours looking for such a Grotto, just because it had been part of our Christmas tradition since we were very young. I am disgusted by the way people can come over here, take advantage of our NHS and sponge off the government, but then moan about the way we do things and demand changes. If they don't like it, don't live here... simples. -------------------- |

Same problem here in Germany, whole city parts are used only by people with foreign origin, my father is a trucker and when he was in Berlin he though he was in Istanbul. I accept it when people want to live here, but THAT is unacceptable.

Even if it is true that some people with foreign origin try to change the way we live to there way. This is something i can not understand ore accept. If they act like this in other country's they get told to move the hell out of there. -------------------- |

Yes, but our politicians do nothing against it. At least the test to qualify for here has been accepted - I mean c'mon, when you want to live in the USA you have swear you follow their rules. Why did it take so long to get something like that in Germany?

Why did it take so long to get something like that in Germany? I couldn't agree more. The UK has just bought in a "Points Based Immigration System" - which is a start. The US have got the right idea. They encourage their immigrants to be American, get them involved in national holidays, teach them English, etc. We definitely need something like that in Europe. Although I personally would go for an Australian/Canadian approach to it. -------------------- |

Yeah we are sorta moving off-topic, but many times immigrants move to a new country and refuse to integrate in said society. Of course, noone forces these people to completely abandon their culture of origin but you must conform to the norms of the society you live in. An example is the Lebanese who immigrated to Australia. For some reason, over there they are all troublemakers and form gangs and often are religiously extremist. No wonder they face racism. The Lebanese in Canada on the other hand tend to meld in society and in fact have added positively to it in Montreal's case (except for the drivers ).

I wonder, if I had the funds, could I start up a Little America somwhere. **GS** -------------------- Commands
