As the Topic title suggests, I believe there's an issue with the weapon bonus provided by the Mule Drone.
According to both the in-game description of the weapon bonus And the figures I pulled from the INI file the Mule's buff should impart a 20% bonus to both damage and rate of fire, The Hunter himself confirmed that this was the case on the livestream of Friday 3rd. However, after doing some tests in skirmish I cannot find any evidence of any improvement in the rate of fire of any weapon of any unit that I place within the buff's radius, compared to a duplicate unit that is NOT receiving the buff. I Can however confirm that the damage bonus component of the buff IS being applied correctly because when ordered to attack each other the unit With the buff Always beats the unit Without the buff. I believe the same problem exists for the buff granted by the ECA's Munition's Track, as well as the Ammunition Stockpile upgrade for the ECA Fortification. As according to the INI files these use the same weapon bonus object to impart their buffs as the Mule Drone does (FRENZY_TWO). Aegis. |

Just tested while ago, they still get the fire of rate and damage bonus. I don't see any problems those causes.

Maybe it's a specific unit; the OP should tell us what units he tried this with

I've done Rate of Fire tests with all US infantry, 1 being inside the radius of the buff and 1 being outside, and having them force fire on the ground.
I could not see any difference in rate of fire between the buffed unit and the unbuffed unit with Any of the US infantry variants. I frapsed a few tests earlier but I'm not sure how best to show you guys these recordings. -edit- Currently uploading them to youtube, will post video evidence when uploads finish. Right, not sure if youtube linking is allowed on here but:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhCakmK-gzM...FPW6xbVIHXF1M8h There you see 3 tests that I recorded with Missile Defenders, Vanguards and Javelin teams. Call me crazy but as you can see all 3 pairs fire completely 100% in sync, which shouldn't be happening I don't think if one of them is firing 20% faster. So, either it's a visual bug, or maybe my RotR version is bugged, or the RoF bonus is bugged... |

I did my own test
So I guess it's your version that's bugged. -------------------- |

I guess I'll do a new clean install then.
I do appreciate the counter-evidence, Zeke. It was not my intention to cause an argument, I only wanted to get to the cause of this problem I'm having. -edit- After performing a clean install I'm happy to report the bug has been fixed, the RoF bonus is now clearly visible and working as was intended. I also realized what was causing the bug. I was using a custom modified GameData.ini file to allow me to zoom the camera out further, naturally my custom ini file did not code for the weapon bonus buff properly and it overrode the RoTR gamedata.ini. My thanks to everyone who helped me solve this problem. This topic can now be closed. Aegis. This post has been edited by Aegis: 8 Apr 2015, 12:20 |
