I'll keep it short.
Go here to download Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 1 as freeware. Seems EA wants to get everyone back in a CnC mood for the upcoming release of Tiberian Twilight. -------------------- |

I've heard of that in a certain website IIRC. Sounds decent due to the antiquity of the games that may be considered as freebies by now...EA's desperate effort to take the tarnished C&C spirit back much?

RA1 and Tiberian Dawn have been freeware for years (not to mention I have the original CDs ).
Tibsun is new, though. Might download later. This post has been edited by Alias: 14 Feb 2010, 1:24 -------------------- |

RA2 with YR voice overs for free would be sweet.

We have the original TS disc my brother's friend gave to us a few years ago, but it turned out to be somehow corrupted while installing, we didn't use it anyway...I'll try the TS/TD sometime.

I want the sourcecode damnit Whatever the type of C&C engine you mean, I agree with you, hope that EA releases the Gens/ZH SAGE engine in the future. They won't release it until their latest engine doesn't have any major legacy code to avoid people messing with the latest engine.

So why haven't they released the TS source code then, as no new EA game uses it now

Well I dunno about that. Maybe you should email them, but I have to ask, how capable is the TS engine anyway?

Well, way less then Generals of course, but luckily the RA2 engine is based upon the TS engine. We have some modders who are adding new features to it, and some fixes from RA2 (the most important one being a fix for lasers and sonic waves). This however would go a lot easier if we had the source code. Then TS mods would be way better then they already are.
