AIs roundup?, How many AIs floating around?

I sometimes go between 1.86 and 1.87 for skirmish compstomps but the AI for 1.87 is, well, ya already know wink.gif
1.86 is too boring though at medium difficulty, and I may have stopped playing on hard. I can only handle more than 1 opponent if I use the no nukes file.

Anyway, I know there's at least ONE AI rebalancing patch floating around. I think it would be nice to have one place where all these can be found (I'm sure there's more than just one) even if it's in this thread. Please include regardless of difficulty (but do note/link to the changelog).

If such a place already exists, please link obviously smile.gif

They exist but they are amazingly harder than the 1.87 ai anyway. If you want something in between your best bet is to ask mizo for some of his testing ai patches and playing on a medium ai there.

Bro....seriously don't scare me like that! 1.87 AI can be set to control any national army and decimate all comers.


I could probably deal with 1.87 if it wasn't so fast paced, but I guess you can say that for most AI's huh? I'm not into extreme micromanagement as I never played ZH during it's heyday (or any RTS anyway except for Myth the Fallen Lords which isn't the same).

Maybe if Mizo sees this he'll reply, I don't know how to ask people and I'm brain fried as I'm fasting and went to work without getting any sleep (though I wouldn't call what I do "work")

Best bet is to join up the discord group and become an AI tester on the server to send me detailed feedback + bugs.

I am aware Medium is too fast paced at the moment, in the next test build I did a few tweaks but am not sure if they're enough. Real life priorities are not allowing me to do any heavy edits on it until maybe end of June.

I don't know if I'm tester material. For one, I suck at this game. I play in a certain, boring way. I like sipping tea and building fortresses basically, that act something like rocks that waves pitifully smash themselves onto over and over...while I sip my tea.

Of course, its fun when the AI starts mixing up their unit make-up to counter base defenses, but not when the waves come too quickly. It's fine for 2 human v 1 CPU, but the only guy I was able to play with (can't anymore, cuz technical issues) likes to pick GLA and rush the CPU.

I could give it a shot if you're lacking someone that's as detail oriented as me though. I'll have to learn wth discord is first though.

Well, if you're against Russia and USA, don't even think about it. If you let them tech up without care you won't have a chance of winning, only GLA and maybe China can defeat those two on Hard and sometimes on Medium (some maps are harder, when facing USA for example, big maps are a pain in the ass) ECA can do some good rushes if the map is small and you start with at least 20000 credits (AI cheats, so don't feel bad about a little adventage) try to grab as many supply docks as you can, and don't expend too much money in defending them, use your units for that if you can, but keep the preasure. AIs tech buildings is your main target, specially T2 wich allow the AI to field heavy AA, always expend your GPs in taking these out, production buildings are not that important if they only can produce T1 or basic units.

Lastly, try to build your base the closest posible to the center of the map, that way you could defend and attack with more flexibility, and if you build defenses they will help you a lot soaking up damage, this strategy is specially good with GLA, cause worker are cheap and their stealth defenses upgrade. And as soon as you reach Tier 2 build a shit ton of second eco buildings.

Actually, 1 v 1 with medium AI in 1.87 is pretty easy, provided that you set up a good defense line.But 2 v 1 or 2 v 2 with medium AI on a 4 player map, well, it's another story. My friend and I have no difficulty defeating a medium AI in a 1 v 1 on 2 players map with 10000$ starting cash, but when we team up against 2 medium AI on a 4 players map, we almost always get decimated by them, no matter the faction xD oh, and 1 more thing: when we play 3 v 3 with medium AIs, it's always easier than 3 v 2 with medium AIs (even on a 5 players map) xD

Try a Coop between China and GLA, make China spam T Crawlers and volunteer squads to give your GLA mate constant propaganda support. And make sure you get that nasty insurrection mob GP as soon as possible, is an excelent cannon foder. Focus on one enemy HQ and dozers first.
