Wouldn't it be reasonable to delete users or that users delete themselves after playing?
Like it's now there are many networks in Hamachi and you barely find one player cause they're scattered all over the place. If five users are online they should be in 1 network not in 10. Is this somehow realizable? This post has been edited by step2ice: 4 Mar 2011, 19:18 -------------------- |

Why can't people exit out of the networks themselves? I am cleaning out the networks now.
EDIT: I cleaned out the shockwave rooms, but I neither own or have admin powers on Room 4 This post has been edited by Generalcamo: 16 Mar 2011, 15:19 |

It looks like the rooms are not active, anyone know what is going on? I checked Room 1-4 an hour ago and they were working. Although no one was online but still logged in. -------------------- |

I'm kind of confused as to why no one ever seems to be online and playing for all the discussion that goes on about people who play in different servers and services. Maybe it's just me but it seems that either no one is ever on or it's just two or three people who are playing game after game together or not even playing sometimes. I feel like rooms would get more traffic if more people were online more often. It's kind of discouraging to see that no one is playing much online. That's really where the fun is anyway, competition with others.

So I just played a game of Shockwave on Gameranger and it worked perfectly. I encourage you all to check it out. Though it's not as easy to see who's online, once you host a game, the process of joining and starting a game is as painless as I have ever seen.

I remember when .951 was so active online, everyone played it. Rooms were always full. My mistakes killed it though, sorry about the inactivity back in december...

Allright, that is enough. The rooms are FAR TOO INACTIVE to do ANYTHING. Hamatchi has huge problems, and as you saw in december, one person can kill an entire game.
We MUST find an alternative. Due to computer issues a few months ago, I have lost admin rights to all of the shockwave rooms. The following I was considering: Garena: Pros: Large room sizes Garena Plus (Beta) has interface similar to both Tunngle and Hamatchi. Cons: New users would find it hard to use We would need to get support for the game Would be hard to switch to. Tunngle Pros: Easy to use interface Is in active development Integrated chat like hamatchi, without the need for 10-15 rooms Cons: Would be hard to switch to. I am in favor of Tunngle, but garena is good too if you guys want it. We need to find an alternative by december, when people will be more active. Greets, well, I'm normally up for Hamachi but I agree it gives problems and I had hamachi plays before, quite laggy, so I guess I'm up for the change, as always, I first was quite doubious when I made it to Xfire now I guess I can change to pretty much anything else, I will download Tunngle and give it a try, I also find Ganera not so easy to use and some things just doesn't work (Don't know why), if anybody is on the move for Tunngle and can explain me how to join in, count me in. Just play on gameranger. Its less than 1 mb to download and supports Shockwave mod since several months. There are already regularely hosted games on it. It's easy to use and you don't need to configure anything. It also provides better security than hamachi and tunngle. And less lag.

So as things stand now, what is the best way to play online? I've always wanted to play Shockwave online and I finally have my chance. Also it would be really great if you could give me a heads up on how to get whatever program to run.

For the Player who accidently ban from the Handschar hamachi network:
Before this, I will tick the person that I want to clean/kick then click save; the tick person will remove from network BUT yesterday it was happens contrary, the person I was tick was stay and non-tick person was ban from network. That make you suddenly ban from network. I'm so sorry for that. Please Logon again. -------------------- "English is not my language, sorry for bad in it"

A friend of mine and I managed to play Shockwave on Garena without it having specific support for the game and comparatively without encountering any problems (well, sometimes the occasional mismatches, errors, etc. but overall it's OK or at least works for us). That's because we can't connect appropriately with neither of the aforementioned programs (we can't see our games in the local lobbies, created on hamachi, tunngle and game ranger). We usually use the top first RA3 room in Garena. Just rename the .exe from where the game is started to "RA3", place it as a launching .exe in the settings, start the game through Garena and that will do it. Note that you should name one of the .exe-s which directly start you into the game and not the launcher or a shortcut, because it might not do the trick.
hey all, why its so damn lagging ?? good Internet, good Pc, but laggs overall -.- Well, most of the time it depends on the number of units present as far as I know. When we played against 3 hards nuking two bases full of units almost cut the lag to zero . An interesting shortcoming that I encountered and it has nothing to do with LAN connection programs, is that there is a limit of the maps shown in the "unofficial" maps tab when creating a LAN game. Strangely enough that's not the case when creating a singleplayer skirmish game however. I found out that it was because I had at least around 197 custom maps for ShW and ROTR, but only a handful of them is actually shown. I remedied that by moving most of them out of the maps directory, leaving only those that we intend to play on. -------------------- The time has come, our cause is just and our soldiers stand ready!... We shall fall upon our foes like lightning from a cloudless sky!... They shall flee before our righteous anger!... And their armies will come to ruin.

For those late in the news, CNC Online has been released and guess what, mod-compatible i.e. Shockwave. I tried to login but could not connect but in vanilla ZH it works. For those who want a gamespy-like online experience, CNC Online is the way to go. *Edit: It now works. I beg that the SHW online community shall be revived lol. http://cnc-online.net/
