"Ultramarines is a 70-minute sci-fi thriller that will use CGI and state-of-the-art animation production techniques. Games Workshop is delighted to be working with UK-based production company Codex Pictures, who have the momentous task of bringing the Warhammer 40,000 universe to the screen." To check for the source, check no other than Games Workshop itself. Seems like a new company making it so I'll hold my opinions until I see more and actually see it in motion. -------------------- SWR Co-Lead | Texture Artist | Modeler | Level Designer | Fan of all things Awesome |

Why, of all chapters, would they choose Ultramarines?
The most bland and plain, the vanilla Space Marines. I mean come on, they have the odd good story, but nothing nearly good enough for plot twists and good storyline. Space Wolves, Blood Angles, White Scars, Dark Angles, Black Templars, even the Imperial fists are more interesting than the emperors favourites. -------------------- |

Maybe its because they will MAKE the interesting story for the ultramarines. Think about the possibilities, I honestly think they will go with either SM vs Chaos or SM vs Tyranids with some and orks and eldar thrown in. They are the most well known 40k factions, so why wouldn't they? I think the Tau fans and the Necron and Sisters of Battle etc fans will not be seeing anything related to their interests. IG might be in there too.

@Nidmeister; U forgot the Blood Ravens
yeah, i think other marines are better that this one. i only pray this movie will be better than Max Payne. It was a total failure in term of storyline. If they hand on to original storyline, then it would be great 10 episode series than movie. -------------------- |

I laughed how bad the CGI quality is - in fact I laughed about the fact they made a CGI movie instead of a real movie like the FANmade Damnatus. I mean c'mon, getting the best 40k knowers write the script and THEN get James Cameron pack out Avatar's graphics would have resulted in the best movie of the young century (although yes I know Avatar took a ful decade to make <.<).

Yep the CGI is pretty bad. I think the DOW1 intro looked much better. I don't think they have the budget to hire Cameron even though it does not take 10 years like Avatar since Cameron does not have to invent any new tech for it again.

I know. Cameron is a top regiseur but hence also expensive, and still they could have made a better movie, at least a better trailer (OR that's actually what they wanted us to believe and stun us with high quality in the actual movie... which seems sadly unlikely >.>)

So did anyone actually see the movie? I was quite surprised, it wasn't a bad movie like most movies after games are. Graphics weren't much to speak of and not much to put in 70 minutes, but it captured a good feeling about 40k and sticked to the concept. I'm pretty satisfied overall.

Yeah, well I got a rip from torrents, it's not worth buying by my standards, but I was curios.

I also got a rip. Its not worth the purchase. The story is what I expected and CGI really sucks. I have seen better game intros. Even DOW1 game intro was better than this.
