I still play Pokemon. I got VisualBoy Advance for playing my faves from the 3rd Gen. Too bad there aren't any quality DS emulators though. The 4th Gen games seem really good even though the pokemon are gettiing weirder

Oh, the memories...I actually picked up LeafGreen on the GBA a few days ago. Can't wait for the G/S remakes coming out next year.

Glitch with randomness^11. One of the reasons the Safari Zone had been disabled in Gold/Silver

Tbh that was just laziness. Anyway, the 3rd and 4th gen IV and EV systems are far superior for training your pokemon.

I stopped playing after fire red - I always wished they'd upgrade the older ones

Yeah but you can't beat the old Red Blue (or Green in the US) and Yellow series

They were the most challenging imo and their pokemon held the most charm, but I prefer the newer games anyway, as I never saw the added features as disadvantage (btw it was blue in the us too. green was in japan).

Hmm well as you correctly said, the original 151 pokémon were by far the best.
After Gold/Silver/Crystal they started running out of ideas. In the new pokemon there are several that have two elements that contradict eachother. Like fire & steel or something. It's kinda stupid. -------------------- |

Actually it helps cancel resistances/weaknesses, but the godlike abilities are pushing it. I'm curious as to how they plan to top them in any future installments

I'm curious as to how they plan to top them in any future installments Yeah what's more powerful than space and time? It annoys me because 99% of the original 151 get pwned by newer pokémon... I think Mewtwo is the only exception -------------------- |

Yea they definitely need to buff the originals in the newer series. The only thing I prefer the newer series for is the variety and better balance (non legendaries).

IMO opinion there is variety, and then there is overkill... Pokémon has smashed through the overkill mark.
The thing that gets me too is how there is no possible way to get all the pokémon on just one game. With the Fire Red game, I've got every possible one (including secret legendaries, thanks to my cheat drive) but I need someone with one of the other games (Left Green, Ruby, Saphire, Emerald) to trade the remaining.. .what? 60? -------------------- |

Its a ploy to either get you to socialize (god forbid) or buy the other game

The one thing I remember the most about the first games - besides the best glitch ever, naturally - is that they were actually quite difficult compared to the new games. Choosing Charmander actually brought you to the brink of rage-quitting back then. In the remakes, they just gave him an early steel-type move and Brock was no longer that much of a problem. Sure, some of the gameplay was kind of broken, like how fast monsters kept landing criticals all the time while your attacks just missed them whenever the game felt like being an arsehole. Still, a wonderful game full of nostalgic memories. My favourite generation is GSC, though. After that one, it all started going downhill.

I just think pokemon games still same since 10 years ago. in exception, the pokemons are being weirder and weirder each new generations agree with rayburn, I most like the gold-silver generation -------------------- |

I am pretty fond of the GSC generation - but I guess th RGB pokémon are the ones I grew up with. And used to watch the TV show about them.
The show got a little overcrowded when they bought it GSC pokemon and above. One think that really annoyed me about GSC is that your rival always shoved you - just made me wanna kick his scrawny arse all over again. Also, did anyone notice that in the games it varies between "Blacked Out" and "Whited Out" if all your pokémon die? Is this for Politically correct reasons? Or just because the designers are strange? -------------------- |

GSC's story was the best but its League was the easiest...
The Diamond and Pearl leagues seem considerably tougher. |
