Hey All,
I'm pleased to inform you all that we are now starting with the final stages of beta testing for the new release, so it's not going to take much longer from this point on. It will only be a few more weeks of testing before a release comes around to ensure everything is working correctly and providing you a as bug free experince as possible To make the wait abit easier i'v uploaded 2 new renders of re-worked models/textures for existing units here they are: The Topol-M Laser Paladin (note that the red texture bits look reflective ingame altho this effect couldn't be captured right in the render) Also as mentioned before Shw 1.0 will be the last major release altho i'm happy to announce that JJ a very relliable fellow modder will be taking over my postion as main coder and will be providing future maintaince and updates on shockwave in the future of 1.0 and beyond. Stay tuned for more updates as our next update will likely include a full change log. Untill next time. -------------------- |

Glad to see that so much is being done to finish up this great mod in the next few months.
Just wondering, is the new Laser Paladin a whole new design or one 'salvaged' from somewhere/ an unused model? |

Good to see the Topol-M model from RotR replacing the old one here. -------------------- "Not in mood...go away..." "We are going to have to act, if we want to live in a different world." Bringing wrath to a forum near you since 2009! |

Finally a good looking Laser Paladin. Will the red reflective areas change to blue with the Focusing Crystal upgrade?

Even that im not a big fan of Shockwave. (becuase it has a slapstick feal to it) I must admit, I em looking forward to this release. The amount of hardwork that has gone in to this project, the love, the care and the passion. This game will be a fun and painful to play and I will tip my hat in honor of your Incredible work that will soon be here for all to play!

Topol-M looks good but the Laser Paladin looks a bit weird. The turret seems too large for the hull, especially with that long and large barrel.

For those who don't quite enjoy the look of the new Paladin, please consider this bit of Fridge Brilliance from our dev-discussion a few days ago:
QUOTE Don't ask me why but the first adjective that went through my mind when I saw this tank was 'nerdy'. It's hard to describe, but it kind of looks like a nerd tank with that stubby, comically oversized gun, blocky turret, total lack of a low profile and overall very angular, non-streamlined chassis...which, contrary to what you might expect from my choice of words, looks actually VERY cool, really. Considering Townes' reputation as the nerd general, this design is strangely appropriate when you think about it. It shows that his vehicles really ARE all about putting laser guns on top while all the other aspects like streamlining or having a low profile take a back-seat in favour of all the pew-pew-lasers. The only thing really high tech about this tank IS the laser. Everything else looks rudimentary and prototype-ish, like something that has gone through minimal field testing which, again, seems quite appropriate for Townes, being rather arrogant and (over)confident in the superiority of his lasers which, in this opinion, render all disadvantages moot. He doesn't care for clever designs for the sake of camouflage; his tanks don't NEED to be subtle because his point defence lasers (are supposed to) wipe out every incoming projectile anyway.

Quick Question - will Shw 1.0 use to current launcher or will it be launched like ROTR? -------------------- |

I have to admit, despite having read the synopsis of the LP as appropriate for Townes' reputed "nerdiness," the final design certainly annoys me if only because I'd have preferred to see an altered version of the original Paladin chassis instead of what was produced. A minor complaint, of course, since I'm rather fond of the barrel.
I do dig the redone version of the Topol-M. Very nice work. |

There's no chance you'd consider swapping out that tank models for this one is there? I think it might be a little to futuristic looking.

The Laser Paladin is much too bunky...and its barrel reminds me of a telescope.
It's nice to see that it doesn't have those ugly purple power pads strapped to the side like the new Railgun Artillery has |

My manhood doesn't have problems with my badge being purple either so I don't see it, why is there such a 'fat' problem with that colour?
By the way, the new railgun artillery is beyond awesome, just wait until you get to use it, soon -------------------- |
