World of Command and Conquer: Wrath of Kane. OUCH.*doesn't want to think of whatever terrible project EA has in mind for C&C this time* -------------------- TN

This so called "reputable" source has "so called" been confirmed since I signed up for the EA newsletter, there was a giant quiz they're asking people to take and most of the stuff reported on the website probably came from that survey.
It would be interesting to see the Crawler but given how they tend to fuck things up, one can never be too sure. I think they're taking a page of Company of Heroes' British side where a slow moving truck thing rumbles around which doubles as unit production and command centre. |

The thing is, it's unique to the Brits in CoH. The other factions have traditional base building mechanics and while I'm
not entirely against the idea of Crawlers, I sure hope that they don't scrap the classic C&C building system entirely. |

I am not too fond of the Crawler concept, it just completely eliminates base-building. I suppose it would be fine as an option or mode though.
Also, Tiberium universe again? D: |

The Crawler concept is more than likely the "mobile bases" EA promised us in Tiberium Wars but later cut due to "balance concerns" (irony).
From Tiberium Wars' description: QUOTE Adds layers of strategy to your gaming experience by building mobile bases, wielding the power of terrifying Ion Storms on the battlefield, or customizing your armies by combining units. Battle it out online with native VOIP, integrated clan support, and new spectator modes that let you play RTS games like a sport. I don't hold high hopes for another game set in the Tiberium Universe. From a singleplayer perspective they ravaged the canon in C&C 3 and the multiplayer of Tiberian Sun and Tiberium Wars held no long term interest respectively with the units being as unresponsive as sidelong turds after a royal flush. -------------------- |

I see lots of walkers and tiny, little tanks...Not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

Too early. They need to polish the game a few years before releasing.

It's all fail. I wish they'd let a game of theirs ESTABLISH for a moment or perhaps two.
This will solemnize RA3, and make sure CnC3 is dead and buried. If I were working at EALA, even though it's with such an important studio, wouldn't I get fed up with continuously pumping out CnC titles. Maybe they need to make something else for a change -.- This post has been edited by Shock: 9 Jul 2009, 20:09 -------------------- |

Why are EA not able to recreate TW the way is was meant to be by Westwood? I mean, TW was a good game, but not worth counting it a continuation. But I have to admit, THIS time it looks really like a continuation of TS.

seriously, what the fuck you guys are so predictable, if this exact same game was to be made by say, some random unknown upcoming studio everyone would be going crazy about it. instead it's the good old EA bashing we've all grown used to. and it's starting to get somewhat annoying. not cool -------------------- P |

I'm not really impressed by that screenshot. There's hardly any visual difference between this and C&C3. It's the same design scheme (some of these designs are really terrible in fact) and I bet that this'll run off yet ANOTHER updated version of everyone's favourite, out-dated RTS-engine. Also, where RA3 went too heavy on the happy cartoon colours, this one will probably meet the other extreme of the scale, i.e. more dystopia brown and gunmetal grey. Don't get me wrong, the whole thing about classes and crawlers does sound somewhat intriguing (even if it's not really something I'd expect from a C&C game) but it's the same problem all over again: Stop throwing new games at us every friggin' year. Generals wouldn't have had this amazingly large modding community if C&C3 had been released just one year later. This only goes to show how expendable and short-lived all the newer games are: Because they apparently don't even WANT their older games to become established.

Eventually C&C will turn into Need For Speed and people will just get tired of buying a new game every full moon.
