GLA Buggies have recently become capable of fielding mortar cannons with an ingeniously improvised self-loading mechanism that allows them to adapt to any circumstances at hand. The gunner riding shotgun with the driver is in direct control and requires the assistance of the crude targeting computer to calculate the arc and trajectory of the projectile to ensure optimal accuracy. Samir and Amir, two brothers who operated the same Buggy, took credit for the invention. "Those imperialist Chinese dogs just kept sending more and more waves of infantry at us." Amir commented. "That's right, brother! Sometimes we'd fire a full rocket barrage and kill only one of them at best. But the issue is that hit-and-run guerrilla tactics are supposed to be ammunition-efficient." "So me and Samir here showed up the next day with our beloved mortar. Well, let's say the Chinese have to send their cowardly aircraft at us now. But at least we got rid of the old problem, right...?"

What this means in simple gameplay terms is that GLA Buggies in 1.72 will be able to switch between two fire-modes: The familiar rocket barrage and a mortar which fires single shells at a slower rate. The shells produce greater individual damage with a splash effect on impact, but can't hit moving targets reliably. As such, the Buggies are now able to combat a wider range of ground targets more efficiently if you micro-manage them correctly. Do consider that switching between the two weapons takes several seconds during which the vehicle is unable to defend itself though.

Next up, we present you the updated version of another MTG:

Once again, we shall conclude this neat little update with a few screenshots of the upcoming version 1.72:

Good eyes, but it's not an ECM device. It's much more unique, appropriate and most of all useful for the Crawler...

Oh, niice.
So GLA gets a fast moving med-long range "conventional" artillery piece? That's some serious stuff.

Not necessarily a straight-up communist, but yes, Ibrahiim is basically the one who represents the less religious and more anti-corporate/anti-globalisation elements that got into the GLA in the wake of Sulaymaan's policy changes.
Basically:
Sulaymaan = Self-centred visionary, wants to establish an actual nation for the GLA like an evil version of Metal Gear's Big Boss
Ibrahiim = Sympathises with the GLA not out of religious conviction, but because it gives him a chance to 'fight the system'
Yusuuf = The crazy old school hardliner who is actually in it for the fundamentalism

Another great update. Now the hordes of China will suffer with this new toy of the GLA. av-7.gif

For the screenshots to see that much will change. The effect of the new Battlemaster was pretty cool, but now is really a nuke tank.
I can not wait to version 1.72!

Really great mini update and the new buggy is a clever new addition to the GLA. The new crawler seems interesting aswell and im looking forward to seeing what role the new upgrade plays smile.gif

Now the Buggy doesn't seem like an underpowered Grad!

Will buggy ammo increase the firing rate of the mortar? Or does it do nothing?

And it looks like ERA armor on the Troop Crawler. It appears to increase the armor, and is that an Autocannon?

No, the Mortar will not be affected by the Ammo upgrade.

As for the Crawler; I can reveal that this is an alternative upgrade, and yes, it does increase the crawlers survivability via the installation of extra-armour, but what makes this really interesting is the thing -on top- of the vehicle...which is -not- an auto-cannon.

Chronosphere?

Is it a weapon at all? And is it in the Traditional Sense, or the Support Sense?

I really liked this entry in MTG. A pseudo-communist/fascist isn't that far-fetched when you consider the economic views of extremist Sunni groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda; they're essentially Marxists who just have an issue with the explicit atheism of said philosophy, or fascists who have swapped out a secular state with a Sunni caliphate.

The Mortar Buggy looks pretty badass, too!

Brilliant update, as always. Can't wait to try out the new stuff that's coming up. So not an Auto-cannon or a an ECM dish? =/ Trying to think of something that would fit with China's play style, hacking maybe?

Let's just say it fills a niche that China was lacking.

Damage is about 80% of a normal rocket barrage (without ammo upgrade) but in a single projectile that cannot be jammed or shot down.
The biggest dissatvangage of it however is that it cannot hit any moving targets with it even sentinels move to fast for the mortar tongue.gif

I will cater towards something everyone's been complaining about for china. Involving scanning and stealth detection.
