We are not going 100% exactly ROTR Lore, since that's basically what SWR doing in 2.0 , we are creating our unique idea based on the same setting and war. In that case, i'm all for the second option. -------------------- "Nations whose nationalism is destroyed are subject to ruin."

Okay people, we now require your vote on something, How do you want the plot to be like: 1- The course of action for both ECA and Russia well be the same, you well only play from different point of views and different battles, but the outcome and the ending is gonna be the same for both factions. 2- Each faction has its own course of action, the setting and war is the same, but both result in a different outcome, so if you play ECA, ECA is gonna win the war, or Russia wins if you play as Russia. What do you want? 1. I'd rather stick with 1 reality than with 2 different realities. |

What do you want? I'd take 2. I liked the Red Alert style endings, where you see the glorious aftermath of all your battles. I mean, after playing through the whole Russian campaign, you'd expect a win with your glorious commanding skills, right? -------------------- Your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, savage.

What do you want? I agree with V.Metalic. I think it would be awesome if the ending of the campaign would indeed feature the player's defeat: "You fought bravely but it was not enough" so I definitely go for option 1. I mean in all the games I have played you win in the end independent of which side you are fighting for = mainstream. Loosing as one faction = a bit unique -------------------- |

I guess the final battle would be a hold the line type. -------------------- And then...

Well, I meant it more as that as ECA you will follow the campaign, you will win the finale mission, but it will not be end of the war, just the end of this campaign that followed some storyline.

A hybdrid of first. So that there is no apparent end of the war, but end of the campaign. This. Don't have the end of the war itself in this campaign, but have an end of the campaign that follows the storyline. -------------------- |

The way I see it, this campaign can definitely follow the main gist of the storyline, but depict its own scenarios and events that weren't specifically mentioned in the story without outright contradicting it, i.e. showing the many unnamed battles and operations that occur between the ones referenced in our updates. This should give you a lot of design freedom whilst at the same time making most of it quasi-canon. After all, things like dates and locations can always be set straight and shown as text at the start of a mission. With that in mind, I would definitely go for ECA and Russia missions that exist in the same reality rather than doing that old C&C thing where they eventually branch apart into two situations that contradict each other, which is only appropriate given that our story and our campaigns will have -one- definitive ending as well.

^ Nah... it's not even in Scandinavia or the Alps! It is in a much nicer place, and the subsequent mission is still in a more cool place.
