Hello everyone we're back again with another exciting update for ROTR development.
First off, I would like to let all of you know that there is a new test build available for early testing in the public beta testing forum here. (remember that you need a forum account to access this)


One of the new features we can show you in a render is the new supply dock variant
This variant that will be randomly placed at locations where presently the other two are spawned.

As always, we would like to remind all of you out there that there will be another 1.851 test build live stream on this Sunday:


Countdown until the stream starts

Doomhammer will also be doing a live stream with publicly released version of 1.85 of ROTR on the same channel around this time : countdown

I am going to see whether it is more beneficial, viewer wise, for me to stream RotR at 13:00 GMT compared to 18:00 GMT.
So you better put some work into it and spread the word.

I really like some of the new changes in the test patch, though based on the change log regarding the BMP-1 and 4 you put BMP-4 twice when I think the first one regarding coax vs infantry instead of coax and cannon was for BMP-1. Also happy with the new upgrades for ECA starstreak/vacuum warheads that will save a bit of time early game and giving rebels Molotov's from start is good too.

In regards to Golem there's enough reason to increase cost and build time. Its essentially an amphibious tank with antiair and infantry abilities that can make itself untargeteable for a duration...already strong in many facets.

Though perhaps a suggestion regarding Telecom towers and Arms suppliers. Perhaps $25 per tick instead of $20 would better help ECA and Russia economy if even a little to offset ECAs loss of Sattelite uplink cash flow and Russias slightly increased Golem costs. But either way there's always just the 'build more' so is not an issue.

No No No No..... Russia doesnt need an Eco buff, it's good enough.
Niether does ECA ( I think ), it's much easier to set up the telecom towers now so its all good

Im sorry about what I have said.Im cooled off now.Now,I was just furious when a unit that people cant counter gets nerfed so players can counter them.Its not that theyre uncounterable.Its just,people try to counter it with the wrong units and in the wrong way. For example,some people try to use t0-t1 units like crusader against golems which are t2 units which already cost alot.And now that some people who thinks if they cant counter something,no one else cant?! You change it so they can counter it as they like without them finding a way on how to? Seriously,its hard to establish Ru.Yes,its a very good faction where your units win just by stats.But,its really hard to establish it.Its a hard and risky faction.It takes good scouting to know what to expect.Russia cant change strategy fast to counter a specific threat cause of its costly units and low mobility.You already nerfed hunchbacks,because people who didnt build AA said they cant counter it! seriously? How can you counter an aircraft without aa? Some people didnt build aa and rant when they cant counter hunchbacks?

That's how I see it.Can you please tell me why you nerfed it?

That's not how this works.
Whenever something gets brought up often enough or by specific people or if observed by myself i analyse the object,unit or structure to see if it all look and feels alright.
The Golem was over preforming for its price tag so i came up with a bunch of options and chose to simply increase their price and not change it by any other means.

You seriously ask why the golem is so powerful? It has got Shtora and a machinegun that is actually very good against infantry and works okay against helicopters too. It has special resistance to explosions and a lot of HP while it costs significantly less than a sentinel.

Based on your behavior you are just butthurt because you think it was nerfed especially to ruin your fun while in reality most of the testers who are perfectly aware of how Russia works (yes, not just you are so good) agreed that it should be harder to (ab)use and spam something that is effective against almost everything in the game.

Its already hard. Seriously its hard to establish and balance Russian economy. Its just looks easy and that its too powerful cause some people use something wrong.You displayed how golems are countered with mobs/infantry with your GLA instead of using Grad and some other overly used in GLA meta that works with the other factions effectively. Bruce and some other players displayed the use of infantry,AT drones(This little cuties aww),wasp works effectively against golems.

I think its not right to change something which cant be countered with casual metas. Its good to have something different! In those matches you clearly used a different meta to counter Golems and Ru itself.IMO,its Russia that is so different,you cant use the same meta you use for other faction.There is something you have to change when you play against Russia,but that doesnt mean you have to change it because you used a meta which works for every faction.

How the hell are Golems nerfed? They still retain their powers since their stats remain unchanged. The only thing which changed is a price increase ( which lets face it, it's not the end of the world) and a build time increase, ( because 15 seconds is too low for a tank that can almost outpreform all other heavy tanks in just how much stuff it can counter without needing any addons or upgrades to make it effective).

They resisted rocket damage/motar damage/ are fairly tanky/ do fair amount of dps against everything / have an ability that causes it to be untargettable for several seconds meaning that they can steamroll a defence line with ease - all this is avaliable at the get-go.

And how is Russian Second Eco hard to set up? It's fairly easy and fast just due to how resilient arms suppliers are compared to all other factions' second Eco, so its harder to harass Russia's Eco.

your point of view is different from a solid russian player. And as Hunter said,lets not discuss it here.
