Welcome! smile.gif

The purpose of this section is to provide an organized place for the community to share and get feedback about maps, and of course to everyone looking to download new maps made mainly for the mod. In order to keep things nice and tidy here, we will have to follow some guidelines:

1. I made a brand new map, what should I do?

You are welcome to open a new thread for it. The title should be the name of your map. Mention the map type, it's size or amount of players and describe the map as needed. It can be a mission or a special scripted map as well.

2. I made some edits to an existing ROTR map. Can I make a thread for it too?

Depends. First of all, check for any existing threads about the same map, if there is one already then use that instead of creating another. We don't want many versions of the same map to float around. If your edit is good enough and it actually improves the gameplay or the overall look of the map we might consider adding it to the approved maps. This is entirely up to us though. Multiple threads about the same map will be merged or locked.

3. You mentioned "approved maps" - what does this mean?

The approved maps are those maps that meet certain requirements and are recommended for the community to download. These are collected in a separate pinned topic based on their category to make it easier for users to find. This does NOT mean however that they'll be added to any kind of official map pack or the official map list in-game. Click here to read in detail about the requirements.

4. Can I also open discussion threads about maps?

Absolutely, you are encoruaged to do so. Constructive feedback greatly helps us to improve our maps and the gameplay experience on them.

Finally, I'd like to ask you to respect unique content and do not upload or extensively modify anything that wasn't created by you. Minor changes to official maps and maps in the ROTR map pack with the goal of making them more balanced and competetive is as far as anyone should go. If you know the author of the map then by all means contact them with your opinion instead of modifying the map yourself.

Threads that do not follow these guidelines will be locked without any warnings. These guidelines may be modified at any time as needed.
