Presenting the first version of Classic Cameos for Rise of the Reds.

You can download them with this link.

Installation Instruction:
-extract the file !!!!!ROTR186ClassicCameos.big from the archieve
-place the file directly into your ROTR installation (the folder that contains the other .big files, the ROTR launcher etc)

Known bugs:
-some cameos are used in multiple, contradicting locations (often with different hotkeys too), this cannot be fixed without inducing mismatches in the game

Removal Instruction:
-just remove the file from your ROTR folder

Now enjoy the nostalgia

So glad you have the hotkeys next to the cameos. It's gonna make macro so much easier

Will this become a launcher... launch option in the future like in Shockwave?

It is basically a texture pack, so yes, it is.

Also, this addon can work with the launcher (launcher will change archive's extension to .big only when ROTR is launched), all you have to do is open the ROTR185_Lnchr.dat (or was it ROTR186_Lnchr.dat?) with a text redactor and include the archive name in the list, following the template. That's how you can make this addon not affect vZH or other mods, if you have any in the same folder. Although I'm not sure if modifcation of launcher-related files is allowed by SWR.net.

I love these Cameos so much ! I wish at one point they become official.

Any news on this being added to the official release? I've noticed it's not being added into the betas atm (for obvs reasons)...

last i heard was Shiro was taking a break from ROTR development so i would assume that would include this project. That said once 1.87 gets released I can imagine there may be an update for it then.

Till that happens I'm afraid we're gonna have to wait and see
