Full Version: Need help editing Unit Texture / DDS

I am trying to edit a .DDS file for a model but seems I am not saving it properly to work. I am using GiIMP 2 and can't find any guides unfortunately and would be easy if it is just a TGA.

So I opened a .DDS file to change the color of a unit, made sure that the Load Mipmaps & Automatically decode YCoCg/AExp images when detected are both checked. I edited (Colorify)
the Main Surface only.

Overwriting the .DDS resulted with a model of the unit with black skin texture in W3D viewer. I also tried to Export it using a different name for the .DDS to make the 'Save as DDS' mini window to pop-up, selected Compression RXGB(DXT5) and Generate mipmaps is selected but still got me pulling my hairs due to the same result.

Can anyone be kind enough to help me on this?
