Full Version: Broke my piano...?

I may or may not have ruined my digital piano.

I may or may not have fried the motherboard.

I may not or may not have to spend 10k on a replacement.

I may or may not be bored to death before that happens.

My next post may or may not be "RIP buddy you have served me well".

Why the hell did I try to connect that with a broken cable? Guess Einstein was right, human stupidity is infinite after all.

I know how you feel. :-(
Jet02
Wait, you too??
Jet02
Alright. I use a technics sx pr-52.

So one day i tripped over the main cable(probably disconnected it on the inside). I plugged it in, pushed the switch and it didn't turn on. I gave the wire a few shakes, it turned on and off several times and

Boom

Did I just screw the wire or did I just fry the entire circuit? Help plz

Star_Abraham
How do you fry an electronic piano?
Jet02
With a giant pan and a Molotov Cocktail. Fueled with grade A RUSKI STRONK PETROLEUM

No srsly. It's a figure of speech. I think i might have ruined the entire thing.

See any sparks? Were they blue or were they yellow? If they were blue you are probably on the safe side and just need to do a bit of soldering. If they were Yellow.. you may have fried something.
Jet02
Orange...?

Also the spark appeared somewhere at the cable.
Jet02
The spark appeared somewhere at the middle of the power cord. I don't see any visible damage to my circuit.

Do i just need to change the wire or what?

Help plz i'm addicted to my piano
acidbrain
Open the piano up and check if there are fuses inside...
Jet02
If there isn't one?
Jet02
Fixed. The wire's dead, but the circuit itself is intact.

Thanks guys.
