Yo, I was wondering if there were any modifications that were compatible with Shockwave mod that would change the Ai's behavior, I know The shockwave AI as it stands is different from ZH, but when you play over 100 matches with Hard Armies it gets quite repetitive. Any suggestions?

I think you should try playing Online with Gameranger or Hamachi.

Improving the AI....Hmmm................Try This. Though it is for ZH, It might work for Shockwave :-

Yes, if you've played over 100 matches then you must like the game, and in that case you are welcome to join our little "group" and play with us - other players. Be advised though that PvP games are very different from what you are used to so it'll be a new challenge smile.gif

The hamachi network is called C&C Generals ZH Mods - here you'll find plenty of people including myself to play with.

I have the same opinion. I was wondering if the Mod Advanced AI 0.98 works along with SW? Anyone?

Somewhat along the same lines: How exactly do you code an AI? Often, in mods, the levels are pretty close to each other in terms of difficulty and either they're pretty easy or truly insane/cheating. It seems to depend on the taste of the coder in question. Obviously, since the AI is the computer, coding must be done in objective (i.e. non-fuzzy logic) terms and I assume they rely on buildlists, automated responses when enemies progress within a certain distance of the base, basic (very basic) strategy etc. Also, they cannot be map-specific (that is what scripts are for...), but still I wonder how it is done...?

Have you tried lower money, $10,000 against the AI?

Always.
Darky
Now try 5000. biggrin.gif

To be serious however, you won't find actual challenge (RotR has "better" AI and it just has an even worse money hack) against the AI, I suggest playing online.
Karpet
Well, of course, you can always make a challenge for yourself and limit your tactics, aka infantry only v. Thrax, or something.
Darky
Hamachi is a waste of time if you're trying to play Shockwave, Gameranger is much more active. Still, keep Hamachi, there are a few players, especially good ones that you can call over to GR that don't really frequent it.

Here's something you can try.

I downloaded the Zero Hour: Enhanced mod and just copied the Skirmish AI scripts file and overrided the default script file - the AI seems quite better, and I haven't noticed any bugs so far with any of the faction AIs.

Actually scratch this - or at least do it at your own risk

I actually wished to include an improved AI in my fan patch, but the difficulties in editing the AI's scripts made this idea cannot be realized.

If only someone can help me improve ShW's AI, then I'll add them into my fan patch.

You think that just giving all AIs infinite money would solve the problem? Probably not as simple as it sounds, but this is the primary reason the AI in SHW is weaker than ROTR.
