First we would like to welcome everyone at our new forums, we've taken a great deal of time and devotion to bring our own server Softalogic online, complete with our domain name and forum to you today. There's still much work to do but to first christen our new home we'd like to continue with this new series of updates until 1.5. Let's move on shall we?

American Tomahawk

The Tomahawk performed unimpressively during the Eurasian War. Even though the Chinese and GLA used outdated artillery, they still managed to outperform the tomahawk. Having spent too much money developing the tomahawk in the first place, it was decided against replacing it as the primary artillery system by the US military. The new Tomahawk cruise missile is expected to turn a new page in this book. The new Tomahawk is capable of being operated in two modes, high speed and cruise. High speed mode allows the missile to reach its target quickly while in cruise mode the missile’s wings are deployed and the missile becomes capable of reaching great distances. US Commanders should pick the mode best suited for the task at hand.

American Paladin Tank

The Paladin Tank project was considered a complete success by the US military. The Paladin was first introduced when point laser defenses were considered outlandish by many. At the time, the Paladin was only inferior to the Overlord. Though with the introduction of the Sentinel the world has now a new king of tanks, the Paladin still performs remarkably. US armor may lack in brute strength when comparing to Russian and Chinese armor, however, what they lack in brute strength they make it up with technology and ingenuity.

See you soon for the next segment I8.gif

Woah.

The Tomahawk is really deadly now, and the new firing modes, they're perfect for it!

Paladin is looking good too.

Awesome update guys!

EDIT: LOL, members 31-33 posting in a row XD.gif
Lord Atlantis
All of these models are amazing smile.gif I am really looking forward to the next release of RotR. smile.gif

Hum.. Awesome work on the Tomahawk, but the Paladin looks kinda small, in my opinion.
Lord Atlantis
The paladin thing is probably just how it appears. It looks roughly the same size as the one already in-game.

One word, awesome.

Nice add more new contents. aw.gif

The Tomahawk is a beast now. Your dozers are no longer safe.
Admiral FCS
So, in high speed mode, the missile cannot be intercepted, correct?
The_Hunter
they can but are harder to shoot down wink.gif

great update

Sweet...I never liked the Tomahawk Launcher but at least it can do some serious damage now (plus it looks more like the concept art now). Will it retain Waypoint Targeting (crosses fingers)? The new Paladin model is sex on treads.
DELETED MEMBER
I assume it still has the seeking ability in both modes, right?

nice boa... i mean models, nice models
Mcbob
Now these are awesome.

As great as the new Paladin turret looks though, the chassis doesn't seem to fit it. It seems plain compared to the rest of the tank.

Some improvements to the skin would also be great. The odd looking, yellow/brown-gradient, that covers the barrel's evacuator doesn't really match the cool-grey skin of the tank.

Otherwise, this is too much good stuff.
CommanderJB
Both of these units are visual feasts compared to their predecessors, and the Tomahawk especially is probably my favourite new unit, with its fire modes making it work like it somehow seems it always should have done. These additions benefit the game as a whole, and they're great fun to use.

Also, quick question, but do you actually intend to use the internal screenshots? Surely some of them (such as TheDR's, if he is still agreeable to their use) would be perfect for showing off these new additions.

I agree. The amount of innovative ideas you guys put into this keeps the mod fresh and gives rather bland units a nice polish.

All of those are great models! I would really like to use them now more than ever. Seriously guys nice work. smile.gif

my second post in this forum, my second question.

Could you give us a range comparision about the tomahwk range in cruise mode in term screen,or other units?
Like two times the range of the MSTAs or the same range or something like that?

Also the missile in cruise mode con be shoot down by airplane or sam like iglas?

Thanks

No the longer range fire mode does not have seeking otherwise there would be little reason to use the faster seeking fire mode.

The thing is i didn't want to change to much of the original paladin design and i wasn't quite sure what to do to the chassis without altering it severly also the barrel texture is something they had since gen 1.0 and i'd just prefer sticking to that look for old schools sake.

The cruis mode missiles have a range of 700 (400 for the normal ones) and they cannot be shotdown by anything other than base defences or PLD's
ka1000
hmm the paladin is somewhat of a let-down honestly.

i think it will fade when compared to the redesigned crusader. the skin and model just aren't that woah compared to all the previous work...

the tomahawk on the other hand is a good remodel+reskin and fits the style of the game perfectly smile.gif
WARthog
Nice update.

Very good to see, that the Tomahawk gets an upgrade. Its missiles always flew too slow in my opinion, when compared to the artillery of the others.

The paladin also looks very nice with great love for detail! smile.gif
Shock
I like the tomahawk, a really good design as usual. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the Paladin, because it has only got a few detail updates instead of a real remodel. It doesn't look bad at all, but I feel it will look very dull compared to the awesome crusader you made.

Is it just me or does the turret and the barrel loop really look a tad large now compared to the size of the base. May be because I never saw a render of the paladin before, but still.
The_Hunter
it always has been that way actualy (the turret size)

Pickysaurus
Wow look awesome!
I really like the look for them. USA was needing a facelift biggrin.gif
Stinger
Aside from its looks, I really like the new ability that was added to the Tomahawk. Players will be able to use those long range missiles to probe for weaknesses so you had better not be caught napping when the United States comes knocking on your door. biggrin.gif
Pickysaurus
Yeah, Tomahawks were never used in my USA strategy, I found raptors to be more effective artillery tongue.gif
Maybe this will changed things

Hmm, I would have thought the other way around.

I guess you can "imagine" that the tomahawk has a predetermined flight route that cannot be changed in cruise mode.

I assumed that both modes would still have guidance, but when a missile is fired in high-speed mode, it has a slower turning speed and cannot turn fast enough in-scale of it's velocity to hit fast, moving targets.

Your idea sounds much more balanced.

As fore the tomahawk missile itself, I'm hoping for an explosion 10x more awesome that the default, crappy, orange/red flareup, that made it appear so weak in vanilla ZH.

This video illustrates the true power of the Tomahawk:

lol, Palabrams I8.gif

that cruise mode sounds interesting, can't wait to use it ingame tongue.gif

I'd love to see the wings actually deploy...now the USA _has_ some serious artillery.

Sweet. This is what is happening to me now 8ani5.gif

Those re-models are wicked.

I think that the Paladin Tank is not good with this chasis, but the rest... 8ani5.gif
