Thanks to the snow here in England I've been off work for a couple of days. As a result here is the ECA Africa campaign ahead of schedule:
http://www.moddb.com/downloads/rotr-187-fa...africa-campaign As for the future: Aside from one or two potential missions I've pretty much run out of ideas for the moment for Rise of the Reds, so I'm thinking of trying my hand at a mutant campaign for Tiberium Essence. This of course depends on how well the Worldbuilder works (it's pretty weird from what I've played with so far), so nothing is set in stone yet. On the other hand I do want to experiment with making an Aleksandr mission which might be fun, so who knows. Whatever happens, I hope you have fun with this campaign and as always... Good luck commander. |

Please forgive me if its a stupid question: How can I install this fan-campaign? Whoops I forgot to add it in the description. Open the zip file and copy all 5 mission files into: Documents>Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour>Maps Once you have done that open the game (make sure it's 1.87) go into skirmish and they should be in the unofficial maps. |

ran them threw, quite good. though mission 1 is iffy imo
A: the gla just sit there while u wreck em, feels like they should try to fight back at liest. B: build bug in the WF, claymore camo is still there. -------------------- |

Thanks! Could you also explain how to increase the capability of the maps so you can add more maps without worrying about overwriting maps etc? Thanks

B: build bug in the WF, claymore camo is still there. I get what you mean, but it is the first mission so I thought I'd go easy on the player. The Claymore is always a pain to take out as it's under 'system' and not 'unit'. I just keep forgetting tbh, but it's no big deal. Thanks! Could you also explain how to increase the capability of the maps so you can add more maps without worrying about overwriting maps etc? Thanks No idea sorry, best to ask someone on the dev team. Had a real blast! Thank you so much for this, RDS!

Thanks 3rdShockArmy, I accidentally deleted your comment on Moddb, guess that teaches me not to use a PS4 to type Didn't see it. Now I lost all of my upvotes on that comment. Forever. You hurt my feelings, now. -------------------- |

Great job!!!
Really enjoy them. Since you have done the GLA and now ECA campaigns, how about the rest of the factions so to complete the whole ROTR ? |

I'm thinking of doing a Chinese covert campaign at some point, and I've done a special Russian Campaign under General Orlov (and a General Aleksandr campaign is in development!). But as for the US I really have no idea what to do with them, bare in mind these campaigns aren't canon, just fan-made. Ideally I'd like to work on canon campaigns if the dev team would have me, but if not I'm sure I can work something out for the Americans This post has been edited by RedDeadSmeg: 26 Dec 2017, 23:02 |

Orlov's First Mission was about the massacre of Berlin and will be expanded on if I do a European campaign for the ECA and Russia. yep, that's what i was saying: again poor europeans, glorious americans, "evil on the east"(or south) that want to kill all good people and even each other. americans almost wiping out whole city, 'cause part of civilian are rebels that are against "peaceful intervention" in their country; europeans bombing small country that preferred to become an ally for "rivals of great europe"; etc examples much closer to real life that are no good for "good guys" campaigns. i deemed to think RotR was about "there is no good guys, everybody is a ...". |

No one is the good guy in the game, but you can't expect the faction traits to show through in one campaign. Look at Red Alert, for 3 games it was always 'Allies are good and Soviets are bad', then Uprising comes along and now the Soviets are sympathetic because the Allies/FutureTech want to completely wipe them from time itself. All that have been shown so far is that the ECA declared war on Russia and struck first (not the other way round), the GLA are supported by a Russian General (NOT Russia itself) and the VDV are willing to help protect countries they are at war with. As for what happens next, here's a little insight: China aren't going to do jack shit in the Euro-Russian war since they distrust Russia and won't help the ECA because they got kicked out of Europe after saving them in Zero Hour. The US will intervene but not for the benefit for the ECA. Also, remember that these campaigns are fan-made, not canon, and real world stuff is boring |

Your campaign is very good. It's story-rich, and some events led to another which is interesting (GLA making Russia a scapegoat). I love it.
Only 2 things I felt were missing, the music and intro missions. You know, it gets bland if there is no C&C music. I understand you'd like to listen to music while playing the game but I suggest to put at least the faction soundtrack so it doesn't feel lonely. And for intros, I believe you will improve in making cinematic intro look more exciting to watch like the Original Zero Hour Missions. Regardless, good job on creating it. Looking forward for newer campaigns -------------------- |

Looking forward for newer campaigns Thanks for the feedback I understand the lack of music can make the missions feel quite lonely, I just find it the least essential part of mission creating. I'll have a play with adding music in once I start the Euro-Russian war campaigns and see how it goes. My intro cinematic skills are basic at best, but I feel I have improved after creating the Aleksandr campaign. Hope you enjoy the latest batch of missions and I'd love feedback on them as well. Thanks again |
