I think I took the "short" in "short story" a bit too literally here
QUOTE Annihilo ex Astra
_Last entry _172.556 A.L. _Personal log/Dr. Allie Granger _Lead Researcher/Pyrios-Alpha Radio Observatory _A year ago, we first discovered the signal. A low, rumbling radio noise, coming from the direction the ancient Earth supposedly lays. And it was rapidly coming closer, like, 30%-of-the-speed-of-light rapidly. It’s a starship, using a magnetic sail to slow down, and they were really slamming on the brakes. Everyone was looking forward to their arrival, everyone thought it’s our distant brethren from the ancient Earth we left so many centuries ago. We were wrong. So terribly, terribly wrong. These were no humans, they might have come here from Earth, or they might come from some star between Earth and us. One thing is for sure. They do not want us here. They didn’t even try to make contact, started shooting before even settling into orbit. Most of our sats above are already gone, and now they’re dropping...something onto this planet. We dreamt of meeting the people from which we came, instead we found ourselves involved in a damned interstellar war. One we can’t win, at least not here. The evacuation order has been given. By tomorrow, we’re on our way back to Tenorra. _EntryEnd -------------------- |

Y'know, embedding Sketchfab models in the forum would be rather cool. But I can't do that, so I'll have to use my 1337 Haxx0r skillz to find a work around. So, click the picture to view the model on Sketchfab

It's mostly done, actually. There are a few things I might still do, adding some more markings, as well doing some more detailing, particularly on the turret. And of course, the track wheels. I think I'm going to do a high poly bake for the wheels, as texturing that by hand is a bit tedious. I don't think I'll be texturing the underside of the tank, since it would never be seen ingame.
I also realized just now that I screwed up the APS projectors in the back of the turret, I need to move those up. Also fix the AO errors on the MG sub turret. So, only minor things are left to do. I am going for an RTS-level of detail with the model. Edit: And if we do ground combat in Ardent Seas, it'll probably go there, in which case I'll have to remove the camouflage, and create a mask map. Well if that's the case i would say the model is a bit blank.
You got all your basics covered but i think some more interesting details would be at the order of the day. Stuff like little vision slits, rivets, hatches and handles ect. -------------------- |

Rivets, steps/handles, and markings, are what I had in mind. I won't add any more vision slits, since the tank already has plenty of periscopes and optics. I need to do a hatch for the driver, and more hatch-y stuff on the commander-gunner's hatch.
I've done some more stuff, including rivets and extra surface detail. This post has been edited by Sargeant Rho: 4 Apr 2016, 20:24 -------------------- |

Those wheels of the treads could be better though... But the rest of the tank is pretty nice.

Thats indeed better but i personally feel that there is still a lot of open blank spaces that could be given more love.

I've done some more work on it, and put it ingame to see how it'd look.
For that purpose, I've removed the camouflage pattern, and created a camo mask to match every other unit in the game. €: I'm also going to post that screenshot on IndieDB, alongside the latest update, some time tomorrow probably. Working on 3 ships at once right now, the Coalition Navy's cruisers.
The Amphibious Assault cruiser in front is built for attacking reinforced islands. The Air Defense Cruiser in the middle is built to shred aircraft via makross missile massacre, and the gun laden ship in the back is the War Cruiser, a heavy brawler. -------------------- |

Those are indeed missile launchers, not particularly powerful ones, but enough to clear a beach if need be.
Working on a campaign unit, the Stratocruiser. Basically, a large, flying warship that can into space. Built out of a space freighter. This post has been edited by Sargeant Rho: 25 May 2016, 14:36 -------------------- |

Incredible, I might use your aid in a new design for a new vehicle based on RA3 Uprising. I appreciate your fine work. Thanks! I don't do comission work anymore though, much less for free, I don't have the time for that. This post has been edited by Sargeant Rho: 11 Oct 2017, 23:32 -------------------- |
