Suggestion:
None of the SHW maps to be used, or the ZH ones.ROTR has its own versions of most of the maps listed....Lets stick to that....
Homeland Rocks to be added
(I got more maps that I can suggest in this as well so I'll edit it soon)
Random shouldnt be the must go to faction,

Edit1 :Bugs with terrorist cars do not exist in rotr,
Edit 2:SWRnet is immune to maphacks, all games should be played on SWR net.As SWRnet takes care of any problems I wont have to bother with gentool like most of the people who play this mod.I hear theres an elevation to the camera angle change that people hate as well.
Edit 3: Inches apart as a balenced ROTR map? You serious???

Edit 4:
Winter wolf is a good map?
Frozen front is a good map (could use a no snow version)
Natural threats is a good map
Bitter winter is a good map
Forgotten freedom Might be rushed in time for the tournamet by MP or Skit.
Cold territory MP is a good map
Airforce general challenge map is debateable
Skits forgotten forest is a good map

There's a no snow version of Frozen Front I've made. find it in the converted maps topic in custom maps forum.
As I've told you in Skype, I'll edit Forgotten Freedom and Farmland fury for this tournament.

I can ask someone to make an award. The winner can put it in his sig. It will look something like this :

If people agree, suggestions on what the award should look like are welcome.

As for the tournament, I vote we dig up the rules for the old 1.802 tournament, but change some of the rules and wording to keep it current.
you know what... ill do that now...

Tournament Format

The tournament follows the simple Double Elimination format. What this means is that players who lose their game once will be moved to the deceptively named losers bracket, where they will continue competing until a second defeat. What this means is that a player is not eliminated unless they lose two games, so remember to use this to your advantage and evaluate your games between rounds.

Matches between players will be best of over a number. Before each round, that number will be made available. Best of format means that the first player to win more than half the games will win. Such as in a Best of Three match, the first player to win two games would win the match and advance.

Matchmaking

The matchmaking for the tournament can be done over any platform, but preferably SWR.net be it the matchmaking thread PM, Skype, Hamachi, Gameranger etc., and it is up to pairs to determine a point in time suitable for everyone. Each round will last approximately a week excluding the first round. There will be a timer on each round, showing how long you have left to play your games and to submit them.

Teams,Factions and the Map

Each game is to be whatever faction you want vs whatever faction they want. This includes random.
The first map in a match must be Lagoon, arguably the TD of ROTR..
Subsequent maps will be picked by the loser of the previous game, and may be any out of the following pool.

Submitting Results

Once you have played your games, the winner of the match must post all the replays via to the forums with a written description containing who won each game and what matchup. Each game must be numbered in the order they are played in. This means that both players must save all the replays in their correct order, as the winner of a match isn't necessarily undefeated during it.

Tournament Rules

1- Do not be unnecessarily rude or insulting. Having a game face is okay, but keep it civil.
2- Do not use hacks or modications of any kind. Hotkey changes are allowed.
3- You must always start with a starting credit count of 10000. Nothing more, nothing less.
4- Repeated as it is extremely important, both players must save all their replays of every game even if they lost.
5- For any reason regarding the tournament, you may contact an organiser.
6- If there is dishonest behavior involved in the replay submitting process, notify an organiser immediately and with proof possibly. This is why once again, both players must save the replays.
7- Try not to disappear. You're given a lot of time to play your games. The last tournament died because of this, and it was a huge letdown sad.gif
8- Be easy to find. Frequent the Matchmaking thread, and get to know your opponents on skype. Don't keep your opponents waiting. They may be busy people like yourself, so don't make it harder for both of you.
9- Make sure to rename the last replay to save it in case of a disconnection or mismatch. In such cases, the game isn't likely to be replayed unless it is early, and I will check the replays to see if either player was noticably closer to victory.
10- Do not make appeals unless you have a solid case. This simply slows the entire tournament process down.
11- This is a double elimination tournament. Losing a single game doesn't knock you out, so don't disappear assuming you were.
12- Do not substitute for other players without telling a tournament organiser. You may substitute for your friend who is a participant when you are not with a very valid reason, but anything else is strictly a big no.

Map List
Dust Devil [ZH]
Cold Territory ]MP]

Lagoon [Skitt]

Hello Generals! Well i think we need creat a map poll to choose the maps list, ok? Some volunteer could do it?
About Award, i'm talking with Specovik about a medal as Rohan suggested! I think it is a good idea!
Anyway, Create an account in Cyberbattle http://cyberbattle.org/en is so simple and sign up!
We will decide together which will be better maps, prizes/awards(medals...) and rules as a community ok!
Give your ideas, opinions, because everything will be taken into account!

Let's discuss a list of ROTR-specific exploits, since "bug cars with terrorists" is irrelevant. Are there any? Are Russian ICBMs and SWs OK to use?

pleeease.
in the interests of the participants - to indicate really serious bugs or imbalanced. I, for example, 90% of all my games played back in version 1.85 - and there is a balance, as far as I could see - is very different from the current one 1.86.
on Skype-conference I heard something talked about a limit on Topol and something else. About SW in general.
required - order to one or more of the best players at the moment, here have written all the most serious problems of balance, adversely affecting the competitive spirit of the game (if these problems exist).

Whats the status on "coaches" or people who are in voice call with a player more or less giving them advice? Whether they are actually in the game watching or just giving advice as their player gives informational input to them?

If you want to avoid this I highly suggest you guys make sure that the participating players of a match are in a supervised teamspeak so it prevents this, as it'll a least prevent a player from giving input to their "coach" without alt tabbing from the game.

I personally think people voicing during any game when their opponents have no such luxury to be scumbaggy in my opinion, but that may just be me.

Any shape or form of TD is just too small for ROTR's scale and size.

Cut that from the map list and we're good, otherwise ECA,GLA and USA will have strange advanage/disadvantage

Central Station is a pretty balanced map.

Lots of urban combat but its not stupidly chokepointy. If the train is a problem just edit it out.

Another potential candidate- Leipzig Lowlands.

And this one is cool plus fairly balanced-

North America.

North America is a fun as hell map.

Well, I think I could now find the best solution based on the comments:
-Maps: 1st Match You and your opponent agree to choose one of the maps from the list below, loser choose different maps from the list below for next game. Can't play on the same map twice.

Do not give more excuses and sign up http://cyberbattle.org/en/1vs1rotr186tournament

As Zion told Just play the tourney, now you and your opponent can decide the maps between the 15 maps available, you can use gentool or not, you can select army if your opponent agree to select army or you can
continue play random... doesnt matter.
I think now can't be more excuses about anything! Just Have Fun!

Enjoy and have also signed up for the fast 1vs1 Shockwave Tournament Desert! http://cyberbattle.org/en/1vs1shockwavetournamentdesert

I think specovik don't want to be admin of rotr tournament no more... because he told it for me on skype and he don't answer me...
What do you think we should to do: a poll?
Somebody volunteer?
Who do you think will be the best general to be admin of this tournament together with me?
