Soooo to thoose in the skype group your all aware of the "two timelines" crysis, please just vote or leave another idea that could work maybe.
To thoose who are unaware, for around well- I've been around theres been a public skype chat that I've been admining almost from the start.A friend started it and even if hes not among the active users he still comes around here and there. A few days ago, maybe a week and a half the skypechat with 120 members...Vanished from PC versions of skype, only to be replaced with a version that: -Had No Trace of the original chats creator -Had almost half or less then half of the memmbers in it, the rest were not ported for no reason that I can think of.As some of the active members were left in the group with 120 people. -Has a hard time from either recive or give members from the 120 member chat. -The old chat of 120 people was only acccessible from the mobile platform and did not appear on the other members who were still a part of it but instead were able to see the 60 people chat.(Not sure if theres any tablet or mac users there) -The new chat of 60 people isnt really "new" as it had a topic tittle that was two or three years ago and had chat history from the same era. Now HOW THE HELL THIS HAPPEND? I really really dont know, It just appeard one day with one chat vanishing from the PC version and (relatively) everyone who was active in the 60 people group. Soooo I contacted skype and the engineer there was baffled and confused without belief. Currently theres two chats and both me and Skitt are trying our best to be on both. However even if I like skype and defended it alot, and its random lag, how it got worse with every update and its adds too... Im considering to maybe move to discord, MAYBE Yeah Rik is right now out there somewhere with a wild grin.... I've been patient but this seems to be the point where as a good skype customer that I consider to take my money elsewhere.Plus I needed to update the skype chat rules anyways.Mabye a new discord server rule list would be better while Im at it. --------------------  |

Sounds like the old Skypechat was a P2P group which are getting rolled out this week and not everyone there has a Skype client suitable for the Microsoft-acquired-Skype group protocol. So it's https://community.skype.com/t5/Skype-for-We...p/4451792#M3686 pretty much.
I guess someone got the prompt to upgrade and all hell break loose. The AS chat is also using the old protocol under my adminship and a contributor got the message to upgrade it first there. Discord, because that program is still actively being developed unlike Skype, is way better organised and has basicly all the same functions already.

Sorry Brucey_Poo but i say Discord it uses less CPU then Skype. i can play games and have discord open with out a problem. and others have pointed out discord is still growing not like Skype who dont care about there users anymore. Plus it adds your Skype buds to discord if they have it automatically

Voted to move to discord, as it is pretty, clean, reliable, and includes integrated voice chat that has a higher quality than skype. Literally the only thing it is missing is video chat, which most of us never use anyway.

Anyone can join, but it helps if they have an account on the forum because for now we want to make the ranks identical to the forum ranks (i.e. Members be Members, Testers be Desters, Devs be Devs etc). If only Discord had an XP-compatible client... The browser version is nowhere near as comfortable to use as the Skype client is.

Even their Linux client is alpha, though. Amusingly, still more on par with the Windows one than Skype's clients (which has two at the moment, even!).

So a little update on this:
The discord chat has some members there that are rarely active the skype groups are still split and will continue doing so untill all members agree to update and dont be as stubbern as they are now. TL DR: Join all three to talk to everyone, now everyones everywhere and nowhere at the same time. -------------------- |

It's just a waiting game until Skype kicks the bucket, then people will have to move to Discord anyway. Plus you can load your Skype contacts into Discord.
