I recently imported a model from .obj format into GMAX.

this happened:

When you put it in-game the turret comes off of the tank when it turns.

That's just one of the problems with using public models.

Selecting everything > go to the hierarchy tab > press "select pivot only" > then press "center to object", that would fix most of it, but you'll need to manually adjust some of the pivots.

Thanks zeke!

One more thing:
How would I add a bone for FireFX/Weapon launch?

It's gone when I save the model and re-open it.
Pretty sure I forgot to link it.

The attach button doesn't seem to affect the bone.

How do I link it to the model?

What do you mean by gone? You're not re-importing the model every time are you?

Also this is how you Link

No, you're supposed to save the gmax file, and open it whenever you need to edit something.

So I only export it when I want to add it to the game?

You keep the gmax file for editing, when your done editing, you export it to the game.

When I save and open the gmax file the bones are still there, but when I export the file they are gone (both ingame and when I try to import the file).
